There is nothing quite like pulling a fresh batch of golden brown slices from the oven. This cheesy garlic bread with a fresh parsley garnish is the ultimate comforting side dish for pasta nights, roasted meats, or hearty soups. The edges get perfectly crispy while the center stays rich and melty.
Ingredients
1 loaf French bread or thick-cut artisan loaf, sliced lengthwise
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
4 cloves garlic, minced
1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
Instructions
Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
Make the garlic butter: In a small bowl, thoroughly mix the softened butter, minced garlic, and salt until smooth.
Prep the bread: Place the bread slices cut-side up on the baking sheet. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the top of each slice, reaching all the way to the edges.
Add the cheese: Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses generously over the buttered bread.
Bake: Bake on the middle rack for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the cheese is thoroughly melted and bubbling. For a crispier top, turn on the broiler for the final 1 to 2 minutes, watching closely so it doesn't burn.
Finish and serve: Remove the bread from the oven and immediately sprinkle the fresh chopped parsley evenly across the top. Let it cool for one to two minutes before slicing into individual portions and serving warm.
